Financial Director

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Finance Director to lead and strengthen the finance function across both Unicoms and Sidaya Pharma. Working closely with the Managing Director and the management team, the successful candidate will bring structure, consistency, and visibility to financial information and support sound commercial and operational decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

• Financial planning and analysis (FP&A): Developing long-term financial strategies, budgeting, and forecasting. Lead and supervise all financial and accounting activities of the company. Prepare, analyse, and manage budgets and financial reports; Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
• Risk management: Identifying and mitigating financial risks to protect the company. Evaluate financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Financial reporting: Overseeing the creation of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Capital management: Managing cash flow, obtaining financing (debt and equity), and capital budgeting.
• Strategic guidance: Advising the CEO and board on important financial decisions, such as mergers, acquisitions, and new business models.
• Investor relations: Communicating the company’s financial performance to stakeholders. Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial management information and advice to support decision making.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, local legislation, and requirements of Bulgarian regulatory authorities.
• Liaise with external institutions – National Revenue Agency, auditors, banks, and others.
• Prepare documents for annual financial closing and submit them to Bulgarian tax, insurance, and statistical authorities.
• Represent the company before state institutions, auditors, and banks, providing necessary documents and references during inspections.
• Optimize financial processes and manage cash flows, receivables, and payables.
• Identify inefficiencies in financial operations and implement improvements.
• Lead and develop a team of professionals.

This is a senior leadership role, but it is not limited to reviewing work or managing through delegation. Particularly during the initial stage, the Finance Director will personally build models, reports, dashboards, templates, and processes while laying the foundations for a scalable finance function and supporting the future development of its systems and team.

Requirements for the position:

• At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, controlling, management reporting, finance operations, or a comparable senior finance role.
• Strong hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, management P&L, cash-flow planning, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel, including financial modelling and the creation of robust reporting templates.
• Proven ability to build finance processes and reporting structures from the ground up.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and a consistently high standard of data accuracy.
• A practical, hands-on mindset and genuine willingness to work directly with data, reports, and financial models.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights and recommendations.
• Strong communication skills and confidence when working directly with senior management and cross-functional leaders.
• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

The following will be considered an advantage:
•    Experience with ERP, accounting, reporting, automation, or business intelligence systems.
